TOKYO: The 14th Meeting of the Improvement of Business Environment and Investment Working Group between Japan and Qatar was held online on Monday to discuss promising areas and ways for expanding trade and investment between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by FUNATSU Ryuichi, Director of the Second Middle East Division, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry from the Japanese side.
Saleh Abdullah Al-Mana, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Trade Agreements, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Qatar Investment Authority joined from the Qatari side.
Last year, Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio visited Qatar accompanied by several prominent business executives and said he had “high hopes that the further acceleration of cooperation between the public and private sectors of the two countries will lead to the further development and prosperity of both countries.”
He also declared that “Qatar is one of Japan’s most trusted partners in terms of energy security.”
