Jannik Sinner is seeking to defend his Australian Open title on Sunday and win his third Grand Slam title when he takes on Alexander Zverev in the final.
Sinner, who has a 20-match win streak, beat Ben Shelton of the United States in straight sets during his semifinal, while Zverev advanced after 10-time champion Novak Djokovic was forced to retire after the first set due to a leg injury leading to boos from the Australian Open crowd.
Zverev is 0-2 in major finals, losing to Carlos Alcaraz in last’s year French Open final and coughing up a two-set lead against Dominic Thiem at the U.S. Open in 2020.
Zverev leads the overall series with Sinner 4-2.
