Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who leads the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, became the league’s first of the season with 100 catches during Sunday’s NFL Week 15 game against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.
Chase entered the game with 93 catches this season for 1,319 receiving yards with 15 touchdowns.
Chase has now reached 100 catches in a season in consecutive seasons. He’s in his fourth NFL season for the Bengals.
During the Bengals’ win last Monday night in Dallas, Chase had 14 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns, surpassing the 5,000-yard receiving mark in his fourth NFL season. He celebrated his first TD by doing a special “Griddy” for cancer survivor Brixton Wood, and celebrated the overall effort by smashing a donut in teammate Joe Burrow’s face on the field after the game.
NBC analyst and former Bengals receiver Cris Collinsworth said during last Monday’s Manningcast that Chase is the most talented receiver the team has ever had.
Chase told reporters during the week that he only plays golf during the offseason and wouldn’t consider himself a decent golfer, but did have a hole-in-one once while playing in Cabo with Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk.
