NORMAN, Okla. – On Thursday, UC Davis senior men’s golfer Jacob Westberg was named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, recognizing his outstanding academic and athletic achievements this season.
This marks Westberg’s fourth All-America Scholar honor, adding to an illustrious career that includes four GCAA All-American honors, a Big West Freshman of the Year award, and two selections to the Big West All-Second Team.
Westberg has impressively earned All-America Scholar honors in each of his eligible years.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Westberg was one of 531 NCAA Division I athletes from 180 schools to have earned 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
On the course, Westberg’s season was highlighted by his 3-under at the Amer Ari Invitational, as well as his top-25 finish at a jam-packed Gene Miranda Invitational, helping the Aggies place tied for third in one of the most competitive tournaments of the season.
