JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) – Returning to the Plains. That’s what Jacksonville State football will be doing in 2026, according to JSU Athletics.
JSU Athletics Director Greg Seitz announced Saturday that the Gamecocks will travel to Auburn Sept. 26, 2026 to take on the Tigers.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to return to the Plains and play Auburn in 2026,” said Seitz. “This will be a great experience for our football program, fans and alumni to watch the Gamecocks in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
This will be the Gamecocks first trip to Auburn since 2015 where they almost pulled off a major upset before falling to the Tigers 27-20 in overtime.
Saturday’s announcement was the second non-conference game announced by JSU for the 2026 season. The Gamecocks will play Sun Belt Conference opponent Georgia Southern at home the week before they travel to Auburn.
