STILLWATER, Minn. – Powered by three Jackrabbits in the top 10, the South Dakota State women’s golf team finished in second place at the Tommie Invite Tuesday at StoneRidge Golf Club.
SDSU was paced by McKenzie Mages, who finished in third place. She fired a +1 for Tuesday’s round and was 7-over for the week with a 223 tally. UST’s Kathryn VanArragon won medalist honors just three shots ahead of Mages.
Piper Stubbs placed fifth overall. The senior turned in a +13 final scorecard with a 77 (+5) final 18 holes. Classmate Shakira-Ann Kuys was one shot behind Stubbs and tied for sixth place.
Reese Jansa tied for 16th place with 22-over-par 238 and Molly O’Hara finished 25th (245, +29). Tatum Depuydt and Anna Hjartardottir competed individually and finished 27th and 30th, respectively.
As a team, SDSU totaled 917 (+53) over three rounds. Host St. Thomas finished 10 shots ahead of the Jackrabbits to claim the team title.
