The Dubai Tennis Championships welcomed the WTA Tour last week and this week the ATP Tour comes to town.
On Saturday Mirra Andreeva triumphed in Dubai and made history by becoming the youngest woman to win a WTA 1000 event.
Now the men are set to wow the crowds with some pulsating action and battle it out for the trophy not only in Dubai, but also at the Mexican Open in Acapulco.
As the tournament gets underway, American duo John Isner and Jack Sock have predicted who they think they will lift the title.
The Dubai Tennis Championships is one of the last tournaments before the Masters 1000 events begin at Indian Wells and Miami in March.
Dubai is one of the bigger ATP 500 events on tour, with the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic having previously won the title.
The great Spaniard has also enjoyed plenty of success in Acapulco, where he won the title on four occasions. In 2025 there is a strong Dubai field with the likes of top seed Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov.
But John Isner took the Nothing Major podcast to pick Andrey Rublev to win the title in Qatar on Saturday. Furthermore, while previewing the Mexico Open, his co-host Sock thinks their compatriot Tommy Paul will lift the title in Acapulco.
“I am going to go with fellow American Tommy Paul down there. Physically he is going to have no issues, we all know that, I think his confidence is probably as high as ever,” he said.
“He is really, really good at tennis! I like his draw also, I think we are going to have a Tommy Paul and Zverev final and I think Tommy is going to clip him in the final.”
De Minaur was the last player to win the title in Acapulco. In fact, the Australian won the event for the first time in 2023 before successfully defending the title in 2024.
But this year the 25-year-old decided not to go for a three-peat and instead opted to compete in Dubai, where he will try to win his 10th career title.
Ugo Humbert is the defending champion Dubai following a stunning run to the title a year ago.
In successive matches, the Frenchman defeated Gael Monfils, Andy Murray, Hubert Hurkacz, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Bublik in the final to claim his sixth championship.
He is back to defend the title in 2025 and will take on the in-form Jiri Lehecka in the opening round.
