Jack Draper has just enjoyed his best season yet as a professional, with an even better 2025 now being targeted.
Draper was arguably the most improved player on the ATP Tour in 2024, having reached the US Open semi-final.
British number one Draper also won titles in Stuttgart and Vienna and beat Carlos Alcaraz in a fantastic breakout campaign.
Draper loved beating Alcaraz at Queen’s, with the pair having become the first to sign up for the 2025 edition of the event.
Ahead of the new season, however, Draper was expected to train with Alcaraz in Spain, but he has been forced to withdraw due to injury.
Sharing an update on the Briton, Charlie Eccleshare wrote on X: “Jack Draper has a small hip injury that’s currently stopping him from training and has put paid to his planned trip to Spain to train with Carlos Alcaraz.

“But he’s hopeful it will clear soon and won’t affect his Australian Open plans, and the United Cup before that.”
Draper was due for a week in Spain with Alcaraz, in a bid to prepare for the United Cup and the Australian Open.
He is representing Great Britain in the former tournament, which starts on December 27, with the first Grand Slam of the season scheduled to get underway on January 12.
The hip injury is different to the hip issue that massively impacted Draper’s 2023 season, before he managed to recover and soar to a career-high 15th ranking.

Such problems are, however, part of the sport according to Tim Henman, who said on Sky Sports: “It’s always frustrating when you get those niggles or injuries but at times they go with the territory.
“So it’s most important that he gets back 100% fit and healthy so when he gets into the tournament play he is going to be ready and raring to go so he has a lot to build on going from 2024 into 2025.”
