A recent report has listed the “Best & Worst States for Jobs.”
But where does Pennsylvania land?
Conducted and published by WalletHub, the new report lists the Keystone State as 29th overall, meaning it’s on the “worst” end of the spectrum.
States were ranked across two key dimensions — “Job Market” and “Economic Environment” — as well as relevant metrics such as “Employment Growth” and “Median Annual Income.”
It was its “Economic Environment” grade that dragged Pennsylvania down, as it ranked 45th out of 50 overall. However, Pennsylvania did have the fifth overall highest employment growth in the country.
The top three best states for jobs were Minnesota in third; Vermont in second, and New Hampshire in first. West Virginia, on the other hand, was found to be the worst state across the board for jobs.
“Living in one of the best states for jobs can provide stable conditions for the long-term, helping you ride out the fluctuations that the economy will experience in the future,” said Chip Lupo, WalletHub analyst, via the report. “The best states for jobs make it easier for residents to find and retain jobs, and employers in these states also offer very competitive compensation and benefits.
“In addition, the top states are great places for people looking to raise a family, ranking among the best states for working parents.”
