New Year’s Day is here as millions of Americans celebrate the arrival of the new year with loved ones.
If you’re looking to start off the new year with some shopping or by eating at your favorite restaurant, most grocery, retail, and restaurant chains will be open on New Year’s Day, albeit with adjusted hours. Most were also open on New Year’s Eve.
However, the same will not be true for Costco on New Year’s Day. Costco stores will be closed on Jan. 1, according to the company’s website.
On New Year’s Eve, the company’s warehouses were open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What retail stores are open on New Year’s Day?

- Nordstrom; Most stores open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Home Depot; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

- REI; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Bass Pro Shop; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Cabela’s; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
