Al Horford entered the NBA in 2007. He joined the Boston Celtics (for the first time) in 2016. Throughout his tenure with the Celtics, Horford has proven himself to be one of the most consistent players in the NBA. You always know what Horford is going to bring to the court and how he’s going to help lead the team as one of the elder statesmen on the roster.
Interestingly, Horford’s game hasn’t declined with age. He uses angles to be effective on the defensive end, while also showcasing his strength and foot speed. On offense, he’s adapted his approach to become a legitimate threat from the perimeter while also showcasing some reliable passing and interior scoring when needed.
During a recent episode of the “First To The Floor” podcast, the hosts examined Horford’s production before arguing that he’s a top-10 big man in the NBA, regardless of his advancing age. It’s also worth noting that the veteran big man is entering the final year of his current contract, so he may be looking to have an even better season than the last.
