IOWA CITY — Iowa football landed a new addition to its 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday.
Three-star wide receiver Brody Schaffer announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes.
Schaffer, who attends Winneconne High School in Wisconsin, is ranked 767th nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds.
“To begin, I would like to thank God for His blessings,” Schaffer posted on social media. “I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Him. Secondly, the support of my family, teammates, and coaches has been tremendous, and I’m extremely grateful for their support throughout this process. Coach Ryf, Coach Krings, Casey Alger-Feser, Jeff Ehrike, Coach Flanigan, and James Schrenk have helped shape me into the athlete and individual I am today.
“Coach Ferentz, Coach Budmayr, Coach Barnes, and the entire Iowa football coaching staff believed in me and gave me this opportunity, and I am forever grateful for that. I’m proud to announce that I have found my home and I will be committing to the University of Iowa.”
Besides Iowa, Schaffer reported offers from Northwestern, Washington State, Yale and Cornell, among others. He was in Iowa City for Junior Day in January and received an offer from the Hawkeyes in February.
According to his social media, Schaffer runs a 4.46 40-yard dash.
Here are highlights from his junior season.
Here is some video of him running routes.
Schaffer becomes the seventh commitment in Iowa’s 2026 recruiting class, with six of the seven playing on the offensive side of the ball.
Four are offensive linemen, including two in-state products (Colin Whitters and Carson Nielsen). The Hawkeyes also have a verbal pledge from La Jolla (CA) quarterback Cash Herrera. Marcello Vitti currently stands as Iowa’s lone commitment on the defensive side of the ball in the class.
Among others, Iowa is also in pursuit of uncommitted 2026 Iowa City West prospect Julian Manson, who is teammates with Whitters. Manson is the son of former Hawkeye quarterback and the program’s current Director of Player Development, Jason Manson.
