Fans of international cricket are in for a treat over the next few months, with the upcoming calendar packed with matches across all formats of the sport.
Punters planning to bet on cricket with leading sports bettors like Betway Sports will undoubtedly have their sights firmly set on England’s hectic run of games over the next few months.
They kick things off in the West Indies with a three-match series of one-day internationals, before tackling a five-game T20 series against the same opponents.
England subsequently head to New Zealand for three Test matches, before visiting India for more one-day and T20 contests.
Each of England’s upcoming opponents are also in action elsewhere as the international cricket bandwagon continues apace over the next few months.
West Indies have a two Test series against Bangladesh starting on November 22, before playing the same opponents in one-day and T20 series the following month.
They will play another two Test matches in Pakistan in the New Year, but have missed out on qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy in February and March.
New Zealand also have a busy period ahead of them, starting with the culmination of a three-match Test series in India. They lead 2-0 after the first two matches.
They will warm-up for their matches against England with a series of one-day and T20 matches in Sri Lanka. They meet the same opponents on home soil after facing England.
India are heading to South Africa for four T20 matches, before embarking on a five-match Test series in Australia either side of the festive period.
Pakistan also have a packed scheduled, visiting Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa before two home Test matches against West Indies.
Sri Lanka play two Test matches in South Africa in the middle of their meetings with New Zealand, but are another team who have missed out on qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy.
The tournament in Pakistan runs from February 19 to March 9 and features the hosts alongside seven other international teams.
Pakistan are in Group A with Bangladesh, India and New Zealand, while Group B comprises Afghanistan, England, Australia and South Africa.
The one-day international tournament is played as a round-robin in the opening phase, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the semi-finals.
Pakistan are the reigning champions, but the bookmakers rate them as 9/1 shots to retain the title. India are the 2/1 favourites, with Australia (10/3) and England (7/2) next in the ante-post market.
India (2002 & 2013) and Australia (2006 & 2009) are the only multiple winners of the tournament, while England have never previously lifted the trophy.
Australia’s six wicket victory over India in the 2023 Cricket World Cup final suggests they could be the team to beat in Pakistan.
They recently defeated England 3-2 in a five-match series in this format and will fancy their chances of winning the ICC Champions Trophy for the first time in 16 years.
