After winning each of their last five games and 17 of their last 21, the Los Angeles Lakers are arguably the hottest team in the NBA right now. But they’re also a little banged up as they start to embark on one of the most challenging stretches of their schedule this season.
Forward Rui Hachimura pulled up lame in Thursday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves and was diagnosed with patellar tendinopathy. He will reportedly be reassessed in one week. Then on Friday versus the Los Angeles Clippers, guard Austin Reaves exited early with calf soreness and didn’t return.
The good news is that an MRI on Reaves revealed that he didn’t sustain a serious injury, and he will be day-to-day, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Still, he is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s rematch versus the Clippers.
Reaves is averaging 19.1 points and 6.0 assists a game this season, and he put up 22.0 points a game in February as the Lakers went 10-2.
