The Cleveland Browns have failed more times than they have succeeded since The Return in 1999. The rush to return a team after Art Modell stole them away led to a quickly built stadium and roster. The Browns have not seemed to recover from those mistakes all these years later.

Even the stadium drama could be tied back to the rushed building of the current Huntington Bank Field.

Since 1999, Cleveland has seen 12 head coaches, including interim, with four making it a year or less:

• Terry Robiskie – Interim – 2004
• Rob Chudzinski – 2013
• Greg Williams – Interim – 2018
• Freddie Kitchens – 2019

During that time the team had “just” 10 different heads of their front office with George Kokinis and Michael Lombardi being ousted after one season.

The Las Vegas Raiders fired HC Antonio Pierce and, a few days later, GM Tom Telesco this offseason. With those firings, the Raiders join the Browns in some terrible NFL history:

Las Vegas better hope that whoever they hire this cycle makes it longer than Pettine and Farmer’s two-year window.
