Indiana men’s basketball is set to host 5-star 2025 point guard Mikel Brown for a visit this weekend. He’d be a big name to reel in and would provide a massive recruiting boost should he ultimately commit.
Let’s get into it:
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 165 lbs
School: DME Academy (Daytona Beach, Florida)
Other offers: Kentucky, Louisville, Alabama, Texas, Auburn, Kansas, Providence, Ole Miss, more
The competition for Brown is rather steep as you can see. Indiana offered him back in 2022 and has been in to see him multiple times, but so has just about everyone else on the above list. He has visits set to Kentucky, Maryland and Arizona stretching into December.
He has ideal size for the position at 6’3” and shows his talent through an impressive display of passing just about every time he sees the floor. He’s absolutely a true point guard between that, his handle and his vision.
It’s worth noting that Brown currently has a sponsorship with adidas, Indiana’s apparel brand. That could give Indiana an edge or it couldn’t. Jury’s out on that at this moment, but Indiana has flexed more of its adidas ties in recruiting photoshoots and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a prominent photo of him holding the three stripes logo that comes out of this visit.
