Curt Cignetti and company continue to fill out the roster for next season with another three players from the transfer portal, including two offensive linemen.
Kahlil Benson, a former Hoosier, is among those transferring in from Colorado. He spent three seasons with Indiana, including starting 12 games at right tackle in 2023, before transferring to the Buffaloes.
Benson saw time at three different positions for the Buffaloes in this past season, but graded as one of the team’s top run blockers, per PFF. His pass block grades have also improved since he left Bloomington.
Benson wasn’t the only addition this staff made to the offensive line, grabbing Zen Michalski after four seasons of Ohio State. He has one year of eligibility remaining and has appeared in 34 games with the Buckeyes during his time there.
Indiana also added some quarterback depth in Grant Wilson, who joins after two seasons with Old Dominion and two at Fordham. More recently at Old Dominion, Wilson started all of 2023 and was slated to start in 2024 before being injured.
Wilson is not likely to be the starter, but will add valuable depth to a quarterback room facing a near-full reset following the departures of Kurtis Rourke and Tayven Jackson.
Up front, anytime you can give Bob Bostad time with guys who have experience at the highest levels of the sport, I am going to be happy about it. He’s a proven developer adding two big bodies that should be able to bolster a much-improved offensive line.
