Indiana basketball vs Louisville: Insider breakdown on brutal loss
IndyStar IU Insider Zach Osterman tries to make sense of the Hoosiers’ brutal showing against Louisville in Battle 4 Atlantis.
Remember everything Indiana basketball did in its Battle 4 Atlantis opener against Louisville? The No. 15 Hoosiers hope the opposite happens Thursday when they play No. 4 Gonzaga.
The Hoosiers (4-1) were trounced by the Cardinals as no IU guard scored for the first 35 minutes and they withered under Louisville’s defensive pressure (23 turnovers, 20 made baskets).
The Bulldogs (5-1) lost to West Virginia 86-78 in overtime in their first-round game. Ryan Nembhard, the younger brother of the Indiana Pacers‘ Andrew Nembhard, struggled from the field (1-of-10), scoring 7 points with 12 assists. Former Butler player Khalif Battle scored 16 points and Braden Huff came off the bench for 19.
