• For the second consecutive year, LIV Golf Adelaide was named by World Golf Awards as the World’s Best Golf Event.
The 2024 tournament at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide set a LIV Golf record for total attendance, with more than 94,000 fans enjoying the three days of competition and activities, culminating in the league’s first-ever team playoff, with the home favorite Ripper GC winning the title.
LIV Golf Adelaide also was named the World’s Best Golf Event in 2023 when it made its highly successful debut on the LIV Golf calendar.
Anticipation is already building for LIV Golf Adelaide in 2025, with the tournament scheduled for Feb. 14-16. (Click for ticket information.)
• LIV Golf Adelaide also is nominated as a finalist for Best Sports Event of the Year by the 2024 Sports Business Awards, with the award winner to be announced Friday.
Described as a “destination event,” LIV Golf Adelaide had a total economic impact of $78.5 million (USD) that included 42% interstate/international visitors from 30 different countries.
• Katie O’Reilly, LIV Golf Executive Vice President and Head of Team Business Operations, was honored at a celebration dinner in mid-November in New York as part of Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2024.
O’Reilly joined LIV Golf earlier this year after successful stints at the NBA, IMG, Madison Square Garden and Philadelphia 76ers. She is part of a growing team of LIV Golf leaders representing strong industry backgrounds.
Joining her on the red carpet in New York were other LIV Golf executives, including Chief Marketing Officer Adam Harter, a former Pepsi executive; Chief Communications Officer Ilana Finley, a former Nike executive; Chief Legal Officer John Ruzich, a former Legends/Dreamworks executive; and Chief Executive Officer Greg Norman, a World Golf Hall of Famer.
