AUBURN — With three games left in the regular season, No. 1 Auburn can taste at least a share of a regular season title. Hopefully, it’s an outright championship.

Auburn sits at 26-2 overall and 14-1 in league play. It’s the Tigers’ best 15-game start to SEC play in program history. The most SEC wins in program history is 15, set by the 2021-22 team. The second-most league wins was 14, set by the 98-99 team.

If Auburn won a title, it would be the third regular season conference crown for Bruce Pearl and Co. in the last eight seasons, and fifth overall championship, counting two tournament titles. There’s plenty on the line.

But in the most competitive season SEC basketball has ever seen, the competition is hot on Auburn’s heels, namely Alabama and Florida. The Tide still sit two games back, while the Gators slipped to three games back after being upset at Georgia on Tuesday night.

With one more win, Auburn is guaranteed at least a share of the SEC title. If that one more win is Alabama, the Tigers will win the title outright. And with two more wins, Auburn will win an outright title.
