Participants during the blood donation event.
Doha: Ibis and Adagio Doha located on C-Ring Road demonstrated its unwavering support to the community by partnering with Hamad Medical Corporation for a blood donation drive recently.
The hotel opened in November 2022 just in time for Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup, and has since organised multiple social initiatives to give something back to the community.
This was the hotel’s first blood donation initiative and the event garnered overwhelming support from its employees, suppliers and guests, and with 47 donors registered. With this initiative, the hotel’s team aims to give back to the community sharing the delight of contributing to society adding to the local blood bank reserves. Through this blood donation drive, the team was able to spread the word about multiple health benefits of blood donation.
Rajiv Tarcar, General Manager, Ibis & Adagio Doha said, “Giving blood is like giving the gift of life and each bag donated can save as many as three lives. Since opening the hotel, we have received a tremendous response from the local community helping us establish the Ibis and Adagio brand in Qatar. As a new business, we truly owe something to the local community. I am proud of the team and our guests for their overwhelming response and to make this blood donation drive a success.”
Ibis & Adagio Doha’s Talent and Culture team has planned other community service initiatives in 2024, a Clothes and Shoes Donation Event in September and a beach cleaning drive in December. The team is planning to have another blood donation drive in November 2024 to celebrate their two-year anniversary.
