Ryan Garcia has been a wild card his whole career. He has done everything that can get him in trouble and sabotage his career to a certain extent. His troublesome incidents include a stint in jail for felony vandalism at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, a one-year ban from boxing for testing positive for Ostraine, and his gambling habit.
King Ry has been vocal about his gambling and betting habits. The Victorville native made headlines when he placed a bet on himself during his fight against Devin Haney. After the fight, Garcia shared multiple screenshots showing the $2 million bet he placed on the fight and how it paid out $12 million. There are many stories about Ryan Garcia when it comes to betting. Earlier this week, the light welterweight sat down with Monkey Tilt and shared one of his craziest gambling stories yet.

After being asked about his craziest gambling story, Garcia recalled a time when he had on himself $150,000 which he decided to gamble with. But as the night progressed, Ryan Garcia lost almost all of the 150k he had until he was left only with $6,000. “I had 150,000 bankrolls and I just couldn’t win to save my life and I was at 6000 bucks,” stated Garcia. Did that stop him from betting further? You know the answer.
Just when he had given up hopes of winning back the amount, he started playing Baccarat. “We went to Baccarat, me and Andrew, with the 6,000,” revealed the Victorville native before telling how his luck suddenly changed, dramatically. He stated, “We threw the 6,000. Boom, hit the first one, got to 12. Then, boom I got hot, 12 to 24, then boom we just started hitting everything,” in an excited voice.

To come back like this after almost losing $150,000 should be considered one of the wildest nights a normal person could have. But this is Ryan Garcia we are talking about and this was not the first time that he got into trouble while betting. A few months ago, the 26-year-old shared a rather humiliating incident while gambling with stars like Neymar Jr. and Jimmy Butler.
Earlier this year, Garcia shared a poker session with the likes of Neymar Jr., Jimmy Butler, Chris Eubank Jr., and many others. A clip went viral from the session where Garcia’s several emotions were on display. During the session, he chugged a drink in one go, devoured his food mercilessly at the table, and did antics that almost annoyed Butler.

The viral clip not only annoyed fans but also made them worried about Ryan Garcia’s future. The video was a blatant question on the Victorville native and his seriousness towards the sport. But it seems that the 26-year-old has set his act straight a bit as his ban is nearly over. He is looking for a comeback fight actively and, as several reports suggest, has gone back to training.
