My love language is gift-giving, so when the holidays roll around, I’m shopping for gifts for everyone—from my mom to the mailroom lady in my apartment. But I’m also making it a point to buy myself a few gifts myself as well for all the hard work I’ve put into reaching my goals this year.
Now that I‘ve finished all my shopping for my loved ones, I’m building out my cart of fashion must-haves. Picks include classic Madewell jeans, of course, an AllSaints skirt to pair with sweaters, and cute kitten heels from Steve Madden that I can actually walk in. Shop the rest of my picks from Nordstrom starting at $36 below.
I’ve been invited to several cocktail and black-tie events recently, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect dress—and I think I found it in this Belted Mixed Media Midi Dress from Donna Karan New York. It comes in black and features a sleeveless top with a cowl neckline and a faux leather skirt with ruching across the front. It also has a removable belt to cinch the waist, a front slit for ease of movement, and an invisible zipper at the back for easy on and off.
AllSaints is my aunt’s favorite brand, and it’s become one of my go-to brands as well. Its pieces are more of an investment, but the quality is worth it. So when I come across pieces like this Phia Metallic Pleated Skirt on sale for a staggering 50 percent off, I don’t hesitate to add them to my cart. It comes in gray and red and features an elastic waistband and asymmetrical hem that falls to the mid-calf.
Because the leather was peeling, I had to retire my trusted pair of knee-high boots. That said, I’ve been looking for a cost-effective pair to replace them, and I came across this pointed-toe style from Mia for 55 percent off. They come in black and silver, have a 3.5-inch heel, and a side zipper closure for easy on and off.
