The always-entertaining WM Phoenix Open wraps up on Sunday with final-round action at TPC Scottsdale, airing on CBS.
The par-71 course has a total prize fund of $9.2 million with the current champion being Canada’s Nick Taylor. Taylor probably won’t be repeating as champion, as he sits at seven under par and tied for 29th heading into Sunday, 11 strokes behind the leader, Thomas Detry.
Detry, sitting at 18 under par, is looking for the first PGA Tour win of his career, as the Belgian golfer has merely one Challenge Tour win on his resume thus far. Detry is in great shape to change that on Sunday, however, as he holds a five-stroke lead over the rest of the field.
There are various golfers tied for second heading into Sunday at 13 under par, including some well-known names, such as five-time European Tour champion Rasmus Højgaard, and three-time major winner Jordan Spieth. Florida State product Daniel Berger and Michael Kim are the other two golfers tied for second at 13 under.
Other golfers near the top of the leaderboard heading into Sunday include world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler at 10 under par, Justin Thomas at nine under par, JT Poston at nine under par, and Im Sung-Jae at eight under par, setting up for what should be an exciting Sunday of golf at the WM Phoenix Open final round with its always-raucous crowd.
Tune in to CBS on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET to catch what should be a very entertaining final round at the WM Phoenix Open.
