Sinner has cruised into his second straight Aussie Open final by losing two sets in six matches to reach this point, capped by a straight-sets victory over No. 21 Ben Shelton (7-6, 6-2, 6-2) in the semifinal round. An eight-time tournament champion last season, Sinner has seized control of the ATP’s No. 1 ranking and now pursues his third career Grand Slam title.
Zverev took down tennis’ all-time Grand Slam tourney winner, Novak Djokovic, in the semifinal round to reach the final and put himself in position for the first Grand Slam of his career. The finals appearance is his first ever at the Australian Open and his third at a Grand Slam event.
