ATLANTA — One of the few undefeated Power 4 programs remaining in college football is looking to keep their winning ways intact on Saturday, as the Miami Hurricanes visit the Duke Blue Devils.
#4 Miami Hurricanes (9-0, 5-0 ACC) vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (5-4, 3-3 ACC)
The Hurricanes continue to show off one of the best offenses in the country. Heisman Trophy candidate Cam Ward has been one of the most exciting players to watch this season, though he and Miami’s offense has had to bail his team out on a number of occasions. Whether it be in Week 8 when the Canes had to put up 52 points to outlast Louisville, or when Miami was only up one score on Duke in the second half last Saturday, almost every Hurricanes game has come down to the wire, even when they are certainly the better team.
If Miami wants to cruise to an ACC Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff, they need to tighten things up against lesser opponents.
That’s why Saturday’s clash with Georgia Tech is so intriguing. Sure, the Yellow Jackets have dropped their last two games, failing to score more than one touchdown over their last two games. However, this GTech squad has proven they can be a tough out, playing in close games against Syracuse and Louisville while picking up wins over the likes of North Carolina and Florida State.
The Hurricanes and Yellow Jackets are tied 14-14, all-time, with Georgia Tech winning a wild game last year in Miami.
MY PICK: Hurricanes win, 48-35
