In what has become a bit of a rivalry over recent years, the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Denver Nuggets on Saturday in a potential playoff preview matchup at Ball Arena.
The Lakers are coming off a 110-102 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, a much-needed victory after the team had dropped back-to-back outings to 2024-25 bottom-feeders, the Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets.
Four-time league MVP LeBron James continues to win his battle against Father Time, as the NBA‘s all-time leading scorer scored 40 points and secured eight rebounds in the win over Portland. How will James follow that up against a more able foe in Denver on Saturday, and playing in altitude, no less? Tune in to find out.
The Lakers, as of Friday morning, are fifth in the West with a 33-21 record. And after making the splash trade for Luka Doncic, the team will have huge expectations for the rest of the campaign. On the road against Denver will be a fantastic first real test for the newly minted Doncic-James duo.
Denver, meanwhile, is 37-19 this season, good for the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference. The Nuggets are in excellent shape, Denver is 9-1 in its last 10 games and is currently on a nine-game win streak. Most recently, the Nuggets defeated the Charlotte Hornets 129-115 thanks to 29 points, 17 rebounds, and nine assists from three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, and 34 points and four assists from Jamal Murray.
Tune in to ABC or ESPN Deportes at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night to watch a potential Western Conference Finals preview when the mighty Los Angeles Lakers take on the Denver Nuggets.
