The Nuggets bring the NBA’s longest current win streak into the weekend, having won nine straight games to make an impressive jump into postseason form just before the All-Star Break. In doing so, Denver has leaped to the No. 2 spot in the current Western Conference standings and now sits eight games back of the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder. The most recent of those victories came Thursday night over the Charlotte Hornets (129-115), who had defeated the Lakers (100-97) the previous night in Charlotte.

Los Angeles is now an even 1-1 after the All-Star Break after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers (110-102) in Portland behind 40 points from LeBron James. Austin Reaves added 32 points and got to the free throw line on a night where new superstar acquisition Luka Doncic sat out, as part of his continued recovery from a calf injury.
