Michigan falls from No. 10 to No. 17 in the AP poll following a 31-12 home loss to then-No. 3 Texas at home in Week 2. Arkansas State does carry a perfect 2-0 record into a road underdog role against mighty Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Red Wolves won close contests against Central Arkansas (34-31) and Tulsa (28-24) to add a layer of confidence for back-to-back road trips to Michigan and then to No. 21 Iowa State (Sept. 21).
