With one game left in the regular season, the CU Buffs need some help to reach the Big 12 championship game.
After losing to Kansas on Saturday, the Buffs are tied with three teams — Arizona State, BYU and Iowa State — with a 6-2 conference record. However, Colorado’s overall record (8-3) is slightly behind the others, who all sit at 9-2.
Colorado needs to beat Oklahoma State (3-8) at Folsom Field on Saturday and then hope for the best.
Here’s a look at Buffs’ path to the championship game, according to the Big 12:
If two teams tie with a 7-2 record:
Colorado gets in if it wins and two of the other three 6-2 teams lose.
If three teams tie with a 7-2 record:
If Colorado loses: Arizona State vs. Iowa State
If Arizona State loses: Iowa State vs. BYU
If Iowa State loses: Arizona State vs. BYU
If BYU loses:
If four teams tie at 7-2: Arizona State vs. Iowa State
For teams entering the week 5-3, they must win and see at least three of the four 6-2 teams take a loss.
