A new local business in Aberdeen can help its patrons burn off their extra calories. Sweat Zone Hot Fitness Studios, owned by Lee and Christine (Chris) Keller, is a hot fitness studio that is equipped with two separate hot studios and one indoor cycling room.
For those who are unacquainted with hot exercise, the studio is heated higher than a regular exercise studio would be.
“Working out in a controlled hot studio can increase blood flow, improve flexibility, improve cardiovascular endurance, and support joint health,” Chris Keller said.
Chris Keller has 10 years of instruction experience and is trained in HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), yoga, cycling and Pilates. Nineteen other part-time instructors also lead classes.
“Exercise is fun, and I love everything about teaching and helping members enjoy their workout, let go of the stresses of everyday life, and (support) their overall health,” Keller said.
Sweat Zone has open studio hours but also offers classes that are led by locals from Aberdeen. Keller loves everything she teaches but recommends beginners yoga or restorative stretching yoga for those starting out who are interested in trying out Sweat Zone’s classes. For patrons who are more advanced, she recommends the HIIT, cycling, Pilates and yoga classes. Sweat Zone offers memberships, but a day pass can secure patrons full access to any and all classes on the day they purchase their pass.
At Sweat Zone, walk-ins are welcome, but patrons can also secure a spot via www.sweatzoneaberdeen.com. Thirty people can be accommodated in each studio – apart from the one devoted to cycling, which can accommodate 10. If patrons are interested, signing up via Sweat Zone’s website is the best way to secure a spot for the cycling classes.
Sweat Zone is located at 119 S. Main St. in Aberdeen. Its open studio hours are typically 7 – 11:30 a.m., 1 – 3:45 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. Patrons are welcome to use the studios from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. provided there are no scheduled classes.
