This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman recap the world championships at Del Mar where Sierra Leone and Thorpedo Anna were the biggest stars. Your hosts also discuss what the results mean to the 2024 Eclipse Awards. Some championships were clinched at the Breeders’ Cup, but others remain very much in question.
The biggest Breeders’ Cup races were dominated by 3-year-olds who also were the top three finishers in the Travers. Thorpedo Anna was victorious in the Distaff, and Sierra Leone and Fierceness finished first and second in the Classic.
Next week Matt and Brian will present their first opinions about the 2025 Kentucky Derby. See you then at HorseCenter, and thanks for watching the show.
