This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman celebrate Thanksgiving week by offering analysis and top picks for a pair of strong graded stakes from Churchill Downs. Hit Show headlines the $600,000 Clark Stakes on a three-race winning streak, and Jonathan’s Way looks to bounce back from Breeders’ Cup disappointment as the favorite in the $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club.
The Clark (G2) drew a field of 10 that includes a pair of 3-year-olds taking on older horses for the first time. Two Brad Cox trainees lead the way, Most Wanted, who is undefeated in four career starts, and the 4-year-old Hit Show, who won his last three races.
The Kentucky Jockey Club (G2), which is a points race for the 2025 Kentucky Derby, has a field of 10 3-year-olds led by Jonathan’s Way. The son of Vekoma already has a victory on the Derby trail and Breeders’ Cup experience.
Happy holiday to all of our HorseCenter friends. Matt and Brian are thankful for everybody who watches the show.
