This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman look forward to an excellent Saturday at the Big A. Leading the way is a deep and talented field in Aqueduct’s Grade 2, $500,000 Cigar Mile. Your hosts also continue on the early Kentucky Derby trail, as a field of seven juveniles run in the Remsen Stakes (G2).
The Cigar Mile drew 11 horses who will face off in the final graded-stakes race of 2024 on the NYRA circuit. The field includes Grade 1 winners Book’em Danno, Señor Buscador, Locked and Mullikin.
Kentucky Derby points on a 10-5-3-2-1 scale are available to the top five finishers in the Remsen as most of them try two turns at the 1 1/8-mile distance for the first time. Chad Brown and Bill Mott have the morning-line favorites in Keewaydin and Tux, who were recent impressive maiden winners at Aqueduct.
Good luck this weekend with your Aqueduct wagers, and thanks for watching the show.
