This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman ramp up their Breeders’ Cup coverage by offering their top picks and top long shots for each of the 14 races at Del Mar.
The 2024 Breeders’ Cup Classic features a few interesting matchups. Fierceness will take on top international horses such as Forever Young from Japan and Great Britain’s City Of Troy. The talented 3-year-olds Fierceness and Forever Young will face older horses for the first time. Todd Pletcher and Aidan O’Brien train the two favorites in the Classic, and each of them has 18 Breeders’ Cup victories in their careers.
Thorpedo Anna will race against older horses for the first time in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff. Her trainer Kenny McPeek goes for the first Breeders’ Cup victory of his career, and they will have to defeat last year’s Distaff winner Idiomatic.
Next week on HorseCenter, Matt and Brian will highlight a few of the top races of Breeders’ Cup weekend and discuss some of their suggested wagers.
