Hoops for Harmony basketball showcase promotes equity and unity
York Suburban’s Hoops for Harmony showcase featured 33 games, 605 players and over 1,000 minutes of basketball while promoting equity and unity.
Are you hungry for high school basketball? The chance to see multiple games without moving your car?
Then York Suburban athletic director Ron Coursey has a hoops buffet for you this weekend.
Boys and girls teams from far and wide will converge on York County to play in the Hoops for Harmony showcase. Most of the 55 games will be played in York County Tech’s two gyms, but a handful will also be contested at York High and York Suburban.
One team from Canada will join 54 others from along the mid-Atlantic states. YAIAA teams that don’t often get a chance to play each other will tip off, as well as teams with District 3 and PIAA implications.
More than a dozen blue chip recruits will be on the courts throughout the showcase.
Day passes will be sold Friday, Saturday and Sunday for $5 for students and $10 for adults. They can be purchased at the Hoops for Harmony website and are good for all three sites.
