CARTHAGE, New York (WWNY) – Section III football and boys’ high school soccer topped the local sports menu on Thursday.
The Comets hosted Camden in Thursday night Section III football from Carthage.
– First quarter: after Carthage stopped Camden on their opening drive, Geremiah Ademola-Sadipe breaks tackles and goes 51 yards for the touchdown, putting the Comets up 7-0.
– Camden answers on its next possession when Adam Gonzalez hits Isaac Lynch for the eight-yard score. It’s 7-6 with the Comets still on top.
– Second quarter: Carthage adds to its lead when Ademola-Sadipe scores his second touchdown of the night. He ran for 390 yards and five scores.
Carthage rolled past Camden 41-18.
In boys Frontier League soccer under the lights at Watertown High, the Cyclones hosted Lowville.
– The Cyclones had a good scoring chance off the throw-in, but Lowville goalie Isiah Spence comes up with the save.
– Norman Cushman with one of his three saves for the Cyclones.
– Peyton Matusczak scored for Lowville and Teagan Buckley scored for Watertown to send the game into overtime.
Matusczak scored his second of the game in the second OT to give Lowville a 2-1 win.
In Copenhagen, the Golden Knights hosted South Lewis in a boys’ Frontier League matchup.
– Mason Arthur with one of his seven stops for the Falcons.
– Logan L’Hullier comes up with one of his 12 saves.
– Lachlan McAleese and David Gallogly scored for South Lewis.
The Falcons blanked the Golden Knights 2-0.
