OGDENSBURG, New York (WWNY) – High school girls’ soccer was the name of the game as OFA held its soccer tournament on Tuesday.
First up, it was Heuvelton vs. Morristown.
– Rockets on the attack. Mia Tully with the shot on goal. Av Blackburn scoops up the shot.
– Summer June crosses. It’s Blackburn again with save.
– But Morristown continues to press. Ava Howie escapes the defense and pounds in the goal. It’s 1-0 Rockets.
– On the corner kick, Isabelle Woodcock’s shot is deflected off the crossbar and drops over the goal line. Morristown is up 2-0 before the half. Rockets go on to win 4-0.
Then it was Ogdensburg vs. Salmon River
– The Blue Devils strike first. The ball is lifted past the Shamrock keeper, tipped home by Taylor Pinkerton. It’s 1-0 OFA.
– Salmon River’s Leyla Snyder crosses to Lindsey Durant who catches the far post, tying the game 1-1.
– Carlee Thompson on a direct, fires under the crossbar. It’s 2-1 OFA.
– Anastasia Terrance strikes the shot. Emily Connor lifts the shot over the keeper. It’s 3-2 Salmon River.
– On the corner kick, after several bounces, Calista Cree scores.
Salmon River won 5-2.
