WALTHAM, Mass. – Iain Highfield, the Director of KOHR Golf in Natick and a recognized expert in creating high-performance environments, has been named the men’s golf coach at Bentley University, Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams announced.
“I am really excited about joining the Bentley staff,” said Highfield. “I like to help people evolve as golfers, as well as individuals, and this is the perfect opportunity to do so. I love to use golf as a vehicle to achieve that.”
“We are thrilled to bring Coach Highfield aboard to help build on the success that our men’s golf program has achieved over the years,” said Williams. The Bentley Falcons have qualified for the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional a dozen times since 2010 and have captured three Northeast-10 Conference championships during that time.
As the Director of KOHR Golf, Highfield has created and upheld a vision, mission and culture that will help KOHR golf students strive towards their goals and dreams. He has designed and led an evidence-based athletic development program, and has recruited, retained and managed a team of coaches and administrators.
From 2017 until earlier this year, Highfield also ran his own consulting firm. The golf practice expert designed practice programs for professional golfers on three major golf tours and was featured in Golf Digest and on the Golf Channel. He also created a psychological conditioning program that has been used by athletes and sporting academies all over the world.
“I’ve traveled a great deal during my career, but have now settled in Massachusetts,” said Highfield, who is living on the South Shore. “I’ve fallen in love with Massachusetts. It excites me to be able to coach so close to home.”
Highfield, the author of three books, has been a performance consultant with the Canadian women’s national team, The University of Georgia, the University of Missouri and the University of Mercer, and has been a lecturer at Penn State.
Highfield, who is currently pursuing a certificate in organizational behavior at Harvard University, has previously studied in his native England at Leeds Beckett University and The Open University, where he earned a degree in Economics and qualifications in Sports Psychology.
Bentley will open the fall season September 9-10 with the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational.
