Salazar has served as Westlake’s head football coach since 2022 while also holding the role of assistant athletic director. Before his promotion, he spent nearly a decade as the team’s defensive coordinator – playing a key role in Westlake’s three straight state championships.
In 2024, the Chaparrals finished with a 14-2 record and reached the state championship game.
