SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame football offered no 11th-hour surprises ahead of National Signing Day on Wednesday.

According to 247Sports Composite, Notre Dame football held steady at No. 12 nationally in the rankings for 2025 high school signees.
Among non-SEC schools, Notre Dame trailed only defending national champion Ohio State (No. 3), Oregon (No. 5) and Michigan (No. 6) in the signing class rankings.
Right behind the Irish to round out the top 15 were Miami, USC and Penn State.
Notre Dame signed eight transfers in December and January. That ranked 55th nationally, according to 247Sports Composite, in terms of current value.
Virginia graduate transfer wideout Malachi Fields and Alabama graduate transfer defensive back DeVonta Smith were the only Irish portal additions to rate four stars in this cycle.
Ohio State (No. 34) and Georgia (No. 47) are the only programs ranked ahead of Notre Dame in terms of portal impact with fewer incoming transfers. The Buckeyes and the Bulldogs have signed six transfers apiece thus far.
