HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) – Henderson Economic Development is teaming up with Henderson County High School and Central Academy to offer manufacturing tours throughout the month.
On Wednesday, students who signed up for the tours went to International Paper and Pittsburg Tank and Tower group.
Workers at the manufacturing companies explained to students what a typical work day looks like there.
They also shared information about available job opportunities.
Assistant Principal of Career and Technical Education Unit JT Payne says this is a great way to make connections.
“Really proud of our students for taking the initiative to apply to come on these tours and see what’s going on here, and a lot of our students will take advantage of these opportunities after high school to make a great living for themselves,” said Payne.
The next tour will be October 22 at Audubon Metals and Hydro Aluminum.
