WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Harding men’s golf team kicked off their season with a solid performance at The MULE, a 54-hole event hosted by Central Missouri. The Bisons finished fifth out of 20 teams, posting a team score of 865.
Jose Manuel Peralta led the charge for Harding, securing a top-five finish with a 2-under 208. He consistently played at par or better throughout the tournament, marking his second career top-five finish in 20 events.
The rest of the Harding team showed promise, with Dennis Staykov finishing 22nd at 8-over 218, Jose Arzu placing 28th at 9-over 219, Finlay Cummings coming in 37th at 11-over 221, and Christian Lindgreen finishing 67th at 16-over 226. Jackson McRoberts, competing as an individual, placed 98th at 28-over 238.
The Bisons’ fifth-place finish sets a strong tone for the season, and they will look to build on this momentum next week at the NSU Fall Classic, hosted by Northeastern State at the Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
