BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) – A golf course in southwest Michigan has been named the best golf course in the whole state.

According to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium, the Michigan Golf Course Association named Harbor Shores the 2024 Michigan Golf Course of the Year.

Criteria used to select the winner include unique characteristics of the course, exceptional quality of ownership and management, outstanding contribution to its community, and significant contribution to the game.

Harbor Shores served as home to the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in even years for more than a decade, hosting its final one this past May.

The Herald-Palladium says the Jack Nicklaus Signature design course has received numerous honors in the past.
