Greg Norman would love sit down and debate with Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy about LIV Golf

Greg Norman would love to sit down and debate with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

The former LIV Golf CEO, who is remaining with the league in an unnamed role for the 2025 season, told Australian Golf Digest in a recent interview he welcomes the chance to talk with Woods and McIlroy about LIV Golf and how the duo has benefitted from its existence in the golf ecosystem.

“I would love them to recognize the fact that — like Tiger with his PIP (Player Impact Program) money — that only came because of LIV, right? So Tiger benefitted from that. Rory’s definitely benefitted from that,” Norman said. “I would love to sit down and talk to them about it, no question about it. Because I’m not a judgmental person and you only learn the facts and truth when you hear the other side of it.”

The interview came on the heels of Norman saying he hasn’t watched any of Woods and McIlroy’s TGL simulator league, stemming from comments the two have made about him in recent years, including when McIlroy said Norman should exit stage left. Even as McIlroy’s tone has changed in recent weeks, The Shark smells blood in the water when it comes to having a conversation with Woods and McIlroy.

“But, yes, would I like to sit down with them? Sure, absolutely,” he said.

“And you know what? I’d win the debate.”

Norman, whose official tenure with LIV Golf is up Aug. 31, said his impact on the game is so big, it’s nearly unrecognizable when discussing his future.

“I will stay involved with LIV in some way, shape or form. I’m going to stay on the board,” Norman said. “So there will be that part of my life, but it won’t be as consuming as what it was before. When I look back on my past three-and-a-half years, from my past 20 years, oh my gosh, I really have changed the game of golf more than what people realize.”
