LIV Golf have parted ways with one of their top media executives, according to a report.
Sports Business Journal have reported that Will Staeger has left his role as chief media officer with the breakaway tour.
Staeger had been with the PIF-backed league since 2021 and was a key player in their first TV deal with The CW.
He was also involved in discussions that resulted in LIV landing a TV deal with Fox.
His departure comes only a week after Greg Norman was replaced in the top position by Scot O’Neil.
Norman has claimed when his contract is officially up he will remain part of LIV in some capacity.
Staeger told SBJ: “I’m looking forward to pursuing some exciting entertainment ventures of my own after what has been a career defining and inspiring partnership with LIV Golf.
“Not only am I grateful and proud to have been a part of the iconic launch and growth of LIV, but I will forever be rooting for LIV’s continued groundbreaking and innovative success from the other side of the ropes.”
A LIV spokesperson told SBJ: “We’re incredibly grateful for Will’s contributions to building the league’s broadcast and LIV Studios model and wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
LIV has experienced several high-profile executive departures since its inception.
Their first chief commercial officer, Sean Bratches, resigned days after LIV held their inaugural event at Centurion Club in June 2022.
Braches never spoke publicly of his decision to walk away.
But it was understood that he wasn’t happy with the comments Norman made about the murdered Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Norman claimed ‘everybody makes mistakes’ when he was questioned on the Saudi crown prince’s alleged involvement.

Elsewhere, Atul Khosla also left his position with LIV after one year.
Khosla joined LIV in 2022 as their chief commercial officer having spent five years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Golf Digest claimed Khosla was seen as a ‘voice of reason’ during their hectic early days.
