River Park, the emerging industrial park off I-75 exit 205 / Georgia 16 in Butts County, has a second employer. The state announced last week that GreenBox Systems will invest $144 million and create more than 300 jobs in Jackson. According to the state, “GreenBox Systems LLC (GreenBox) is an innovative company that provides automated warehouse services to businesses of all sizes.”

The governor’s office announced the forthcoming employer on November 13. GreenBox Systems will occupy about one million square feet of industrial space in Jackson. They will occupy one of two Cubes at River Park buildings.

GreenBox’s new automated distribution center will be located at The Cubes at River Park in Jackson, Georgia. The roughly 1 million-square-foot facility will employ the following:

• automation operators and managers,
• forklift operators,
• material handlers,
• shipping and receiving clerks,
• logistics coordinators, and
• maintenance technicians.

Operations are expected to begin in late 2025. Job opportunities will be posted here when they become available.

About River Park

National development group CRG and Clayco developed The Cubes at River Park as two buildings within the larger River Park development. River Park is a master-planned industrial park. It will have sixteen buildings when complete. The two largest buildings will be 2.2 million square feet each. The state announced in 2022 that Proctor & Gamble would occupy one of these buildings. Their distribution center created 350 jobs.

According to the River Park website, twelve of the sixteen building sites have sold. The Jackson Progress-Argus reported the following in April:

“I don’t think anyone realized how quick this area would develop. It was predicted for 2050, and now there are eight of 12 buildings in the industrial park and the entire project will be complete by 2030,” said Butts County Zoning Director Brad Vaughn during the commission’s Monday, March 25 meeting.

In March, the Butts County Commission approved Jones Petroleum’s request to build a travel plaza / truck stop at the industrial park’s entrance. Its believed this stop will mirror the existing JP center on the west side of I-75. Finally, there’s an ongoing discussion looking to build a new hospital at the location.
