A new social club is raising the bar in St. Pete’s golf and sports lounge scene. The Irons Club has its grand opening this weekend at 2140 Central Avenue, in the heart of the Grand Central District. The refined indoor golf and social club has become an under-the-radar sensation since soft opening, and Friday’s grand opening celebrations (more information below) mark the official kickoff for the combo golf simulator, sports bar, and restaurant. You can book a free bay for up to 2 hours now, or just show up!
The surprisingly large space along the Central Avenue corridor has four oversized golf bays featuring Trackman simulators (the leading launch monitor and golf simulator technology on the PGA Tour), with more than 400 famous courses from across the globe available to play on. In addition to the golf bays, The Irons Club also showcases an upscale sports bar with more than two dozen TVs, a cigar lounge, and even a large outdoor projector, making it easy to catch a big game while also working on your game. And perhaps the most surprising (and impressive) part of the new club is the superb chef-driven kitchen dishing up fantastic elevated eats.
The Irons Club is “members-driven,” and hyper-focused on providing a complete member experience. If you’re looking to meet new people, socialize and get the most for your money, then we recommend full membership as it comes with a laundry list of perks and unique experiences. However, anyone can walk-in and become a “member for a day” to reserve time in the high-tech bays.
Creating a truly modern club experience, owners say the full-time members will be the cornerstone of the operation. “We are creating a community of like-minded individuals wrapped around the modern golf culture. This community will forge new relationships, business & networking opportunities and good times.”
Those following the sport know that “off-course” golf has exploded in popularity in recent years, becoming the fastest growing sector in the game thanks to destinations such as TopGolf and PopStroke, as well the early successes of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL Golf League. The Irons Club is opening at the perfect time for those in the golf community who looking to augment their game with an off-course experience, but are looking for something a bit more elevated with a club atmosphere.
One huge piece that makes The Irons Club stand out is that they have a full-time golf professional on staff. In fact, golf services run the full gamut with private lessons, clinics, club and ball fittings, club sales and repair, golf fitness, and tailor-made individual or corporate memberships.
Additionally, The Irons Club has also quickly enjoyed success as a destination for full-service private and corporate events, including catering through the new kitchen. Events at The Irons Club are extremely engaging and offer a truly memorable experience for all types of parties, including holiday parties, and happy hour networking events
The Irons Club plans to keep single-day memberships available to the general public for as long as they can, but full-time memberships include an excellent set of perks and will quickly fill up. Benefits include priority booking access, exclusive benefits, unlimited golf, member discounts, private amenities, and access to members-only events, leagues and tournaments.
The Irons Club has its official ribbon cutting on Friday, March 7 at 2 pm, followed by a full weekend of grand opening festivities. The 3-day event will feature complimentary simulator bay rentals all weekend long, open play on Bay 1 for walk-ins, tastings from the chef-crafted menu, DJ Fresh, giveaways, and an exclusive first look at the venue’s cutting-edge technology and one-of-a-kind vibe.
