Charlotte, NC – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) named Fayetteville Basketball Players, Morgan Graham and KaNyah O’Neal as week #7 CIAA DefensivePlayer and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Morgan Graham, a senior mass communications and media studies major from Raleigh, NC, has been a defensive standout in the three games this week. Against Elizabeth City State, Graham recorded 8 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 3 steals. Her performance against Virginia State was equally impressive, with 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 2 assists. Graham continued her defensive excellence against Bluefield State dominating the boards with 12 rebounds, including 8 defensive, 4 blocks, and a steal. For the week, Graham totaled 29 rebounds, 15 blocks, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
KaNyah O’Neal, a sophomore business major from Washington, NC, has made a significant impact as a rookie for Fayetteville State. In the game against Bluefield State, O’Neal scored 5 points, grabbed 1 rebound, and had 3 assists. She also impressed her impact against Virginia State, contributing 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. O’Neal’s performance against Elizabeth City State included 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. For the week, O’Neal totaled 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.
The basketball team will travel to Bowie, MD to compete against Bowie State on January 4, 2025. Tipoff is 2:00 PM.
