BERLIN, Conn. – The Fordham golf team kicked off its 2024 fall slate on Saturday with the opening round of the Ryan Lee Memorial at Shuttle Meadow Country Club.
After 18 holes, the Rams (+20) sit 13th in the 16-team field. URI, Sacred Heart and Manhattan are all tied atop the team standing after turning in an even-par team performance.
Jake Mrva paced the Rams during Saturday’s opening round, shooting a three-over 74 to grab a share of 38th, six shots off the lead held by a trio of players from Sacred Heart, Monmouth and URI.
Felix Luetke Meyring sits one shot back of Mrva in 47th at four over.
Tucker Silva shot a six-over 77 followed by a 78 from Chris Konefal. Bryan Ruland carded an 83 to round out the Rams’ scoring contingent.
Playing as an individual, freshman Patrick Ginnity shot a six-over 77 in his collegiate debut.
Fordham’s final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.
